My son fractured his arm on November 23th and was seen in ER at Sacred Hospital. The arm was swollen so they could not cast but referred him to Dr. Robert Lurate's office in Pensacola FL. aka PENSACOLA ORTHOPEDICS AND SPORTS.
My son called me after one day, frustrated that he could not schedule an appointment because the lady kept asking questions about his insurance.
When I called I originally received an answering machine and kept calling until someone answered the phone.
When reaching the receptionist I provided our insurance information and she placed me on hold informed me that they were not a provider and that they would not bill our insurance.
I asked to speak with a manager a lady by the name of Ashley took my call and informed me of the same information.
There were no questions as to concern of my son's condition, how he was doing, was he in pain just insurance and how the bill was to be paid. Total disregard for the patients care.

I honestly do not want anyone providing care for me or my family that is more interested in the insurance over the medical condition.

When I requested information on the managing partner for the practice or a president of the practice, she just said its the doctors.

Sacred Hospital should better screen their doctors and practices.

Baptist Hospital told us to come by that they would treat and be concerned with the insurance after my son was taken care of.

Should we review the Hippocratic Oath gentlemen ?
